Road projects cause over 5,000 fibre cuts in six months — NCC

The Nigerian Communications Commission reported more than 5,000 fibre-optic cable cuts nationwide during the first six months of 2026. The disruptions were mainly linked to road construction, excavation and related civil works, highlighting infrastructure risks for telecom operators and connectivity services.
