Nigeria loses 62,400GWh electricity as gas flaring rises 18.6%

Nigeria lost approximately 62,400 gigawatt-hours of potential electricity generation from flared gas between 2024 and 2025, marking an increase of 18.6 percent compared to the preceding period due to a weak power market and inadequate gas monetisation incentives.
