FG eyes emerging market status after FTSE upgrade

Nigeria is set to return to FTSE Russell’s Frontier Market index from 21 September 2026, following the index provider’s reclassification confirmation. The Federal Government aims to advance the country’s capital market toward Emerging Market status, a development relevant to NGX positioning and international investor access.
