Akwa Ibom Set To Take Over Electricity Market Regulation From NERC

NERC has issued an order transferring regulatory oversight of Akwa Ibom’s electricity market to the Akwa Ibom State Electricity Regulatory Commission. The state is expected to become the 17th in Nigeria to assume control of its electricity-market regulation since the decentralisation process began in 2024.
